Mystery At Indian Point Reviews
“…My almost 8 year old son and I just finished reading the first volume together. He loved it! He said to me, as I was leaving his room after tucking him in for the night, “Mom, I really want to start the next one tomorrow!” This is huge because he’s been trying to get away from me reading to him. I’m so thankful these books have brought back a joyful bedtime story time. The setting is so clear you can really picture the surroundings and the characters. We both love Timmy; he makes us laugh. All the kids are so sweet!”

“I found this book to be fascinating-- it had the right amount of mystery , a compelling plot, and interesting characters. That the story is inspired by the experiences of children who grew up in this area of Louisiana helps make it a really good read.”

“I am a third grade teacher and I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the plot line moved quickly which is great to keep young minds engaged in a story. There was a lot of mystery and intrigue but it was a completely realistic story that my students should be able to picture themselves as part of. Realistic fiction is my favorite genre, especially as a class read aloud, because my students connect more with a story if they can actually picture themselves in it. I also loved how this story will introduce them to the bayou which will be new for many of them. I always say that books are passports to a new world and this one is a great example of that. I can't wait to read other stories in the series!”

“Cajun Kids Adventures, set in the backwaters of the mighty Atchafalaya River in South Louisiana, takes the reader through the thrills and dangers of life on the river and bayous, all the while emphasizing the normalcy of childhood and the glorious beauty of creation. C.P. Landry has captured the essence of the culture and community of a modern family choosing to live in an uncommon environment. These books are a great read for most, but a "must read" for lower and middle schoolers!”

“What a great little book! There are a lot of interesting facts about Cajun Country one learns in this first book. I love how the kids are involved in solving crimes and mysteries! Takes me back to my Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys days! If anyone loves a good book, with a good mystery, he/she will enjoy this book. I also didn’t have to worry about there being any foul language which was refreshing in today’s world. I highly recommend it!”

“What a wonderful, well written children’s book!…As a former 4th grade teacher, I would most definitely have had them in my class room book shelves. They would appeal to both boys & girls as well as children up to adults. I found myself laughing out loud while reading. He does a fabulous job of describing each of their 5 kids unique personalities. As the story unfolds, I love how the children work together on their adventures. This is a series you would want your children and grandchildren reading…Well done Mr. Landry!”

“…Initially, I bought Mystery at Indian Point for my grandson, to encourage more reading during the next summer break. Then out of curiosity, I read it first. As a result, I enjoyed reading this book so much (three times) that I decided to keep it and to order a second copy of Volume 1 for my grandson… How wonderful to have a book series that celebrates goodness and child-like wonder!…The author's imagination and stories evolve from his family's experiences at their camp along the mouth of the Atchafalaya River… Enjoy!”

“This amazing family adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat after each chapter. This book is mainly directed for children, but our whole family enjoyed every page. We read the book aloud during family time before bed and our kids wanted to keep the adventure alive, even though it was bedtime. We totally recommend this book for kids and for the entire family. We can’t wait to see what the family is up to in Volume 2.”

“Brought back childhood memories of searching for treasure, feathers, rocks, etc. Loved how the children' s discovery was incorporated into a learning experience. Will be giving the book as Christmas gifts to our grandchildren.”

“After reading Mystery at Indian Point, the first book in the Cajun Kids Adventure Series, I was delighted to discover a book series to share with my grandchildren as well as local school libraries. During my career in education I have worked with students from K-5 to 12th grade with a goal of helping create a love of learning by introducing fascinating books…Whether you want to use it in the classroom or reading to your grandchildren, this book is a win!”
